Intro to English Paper Piecing with Sailor Holladay, 1/11/25, 9:30am-12:30pm

THIS IS THE JANUARY 11, 2025 CLASS!

In this class we will be learning the basics of English Paper Piecing (EPP) and then appliqué our EPP onto a small mug rug. Once learned, EPP is very relaxing and a wonderful quilting technique for portable, non-electric stitching.

All materials for your first EPP mug rug are provided by our instructor, Sailor Holladay, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer (and we have many supplies here at Craft Emporium to help feed your EPP love):

• Quilting fabric scraps bigger than 2 inches

• 50 wt or 60 wt cotton thread for piecing (preferred brands are Wonderfil Efina and Aurifil, both of which Craft Emporium carries)

• A 5 inch by 5inch piece of backing fabric for stitching EPP shapes onto

• A 5 inch by 5inch piece of batting 

• A 6 inch by 6 inch piece of fabric for the back of the mug rug

• Embroidery thread for hand quilting

• Milliner's needle Size 10
