January Second Sunday School

We had our first Second Sunday School meeting yesterday, and have lots to share once we get everything organized, but in the meantime, our action item is one that we'd love to invite y'all to do: we wrote cards of love and encouragement to trans folk, via the organization Point of Pride.

If you are interested in doing the same, get out your paper craft supplies and get to creating! They ask that you do as much embellishment as you'd like to do, without adding lots of texture or glitter, as these will get sent through the regular mail. We did some watercoloring, some marker designing, and lots of sticker and washi sticking on our cards, and being able to send supportive love letters felt great!

We are also working on a plan to be able to include all folks who aren't able to make it, but still want to be involved. Every month, in the week prior to our in-person meeting, we'll publish a blog post outlining the action we'll be taking, or an overview of the conversation/meeting/craft we'll be hosting. Not all will easily be done from home, but particularly our letter-writing or phone-call campaigns will be, and we encourage our non-physically-present friends to join us if y'all feel called to.
